The ineffectiveness of using a universal geometric dimension in describing the hydrodynamics and heat transfer in porous structures
It is demonstrated that, in the general case, a real porous structure cannot be replaced by a model system of parallel straight channels. This simplification leads to significant errors in calculating both the drag and heat transfer. Comparison with experimental data confirms this inference.
