Simulation of the thermal state of composite materials
Annotation
A general approach to determining the thermal state of composite materials is suggested. Rather than being based on the chemical kinetics of the binder decomposition, this approach is based on the thermodynamic relations in regions bounded by unsteadily movable boundaries, of which two (those that correspond to the beginning and end of the binder decomposition) bound the region of binder decomposition followed by the formation of two new phases, while the third is the boundary of mass carryover. A procedure is suggested for determining the velocities of the unsteady-state motion of movable boundaries, and numerous results are obtained and discussed. It is demonstrated that a $10\%$ error in determining the temperature of the beginning and the end of decomposition has almost no effect on the values of the velocity of motion of movable boundaries and on the temperature distribution in a composite material.
