Effect of the structure of an impulsive-periodic energy flow on the dynamics of phase boundaries in fusion and evaporation
Annotation
Numerical methods of modeling are used to analyze heating, melting, evaporation, cooling, and solidifcation when a metal plate is subjected to impulsive-periodic flows of energy. An analysis is made of the time dependence of the temperature of the surface, the thickness of the molten layer, and the velocities of the fusion and evaporation fronts for different periodic energy flows. The conditions are discussed for which the dynamics of the thermal processes are determined by the shape of an individual pulse, the energy contribution during a period, and the mean energy contribution.
