Influence of external circuit parameters on the stability of an electrical discharge
The effect of the parameters of an external electrical circuit (capacitance, inductance, resistance) on the thermal instability in an electrode-stabilized electrical discharge is examined. It is shown that both monotonic and oscillatory loss of stability can occur and the latter can show up at lower currents.
