The effective mass of charged clusters in weakly conducting liquids
Annotation
The existing possibilities to determine the mass of charged clusters Mi in weak liquid electrolytes are discussed. It was noted that the standard relaxation influence of the finite values of Mi on the frequency dependence of the three-dimensional conductivity σ3(ω) of a weak electrolyte becomes observable in the range of sufficiently high frequencies where other types of absorption such as Debye relaxation (which occurs when ωωD) are also activated. This work presents a methodology that allows taking data related to Mi in the low-frequency domain ωωD using a special differential procedure. Planar σ(ω) and vertical σ(ω) low-frequency conductivities in two-dimensional ionic system in the presence of vertical electric field E are measured with further definition of their difference δσ=σ(ω)σ(ω), which contains the information on Mi.
