Motion Simulation of Colliding Particles in a Shear Flow on the Basis of the Quasi-Binary Model
A quasi-binary statistical model is presented for determining the source colliding terms in equations for the second moments of particle velocity pulses (kinetic stresses). This model results in considerably better agreement with the data of direct calculations of the kinetic energy and the stresses of quick-response particles at a small volume concentration of the disperse phase as compared to the classical statistical model based on the Grad method.
