Evaporative expansion after passage of an intense shock wave
Annotation
Thermodynamic parameters of paraffin wax and tungsten are investigated by experiments with high density shock waves. Results are given on the expansion of paraffin wax and tungsten after passage of shock waves providing energy hundreds of times the latent heat of evaporation. The expansion occurred in air at various pressures and also in an expanding channel. It was found that expansion at constant pressure occurs over a certain range in the parameters of the material.
