Characteristics of atmospheric pressure DC discharge above sulfonol water solutions
Annotation
We have investigated the electrophysical characteristics of the plasma of the contact DC discharge in the air above sulfonol $(\text{C}_{12}\text{H}_{25}\text{C}_6\text{H}_4\text{SO}_3\text{Na})$ water solutions, within the concentration range of $5 \times 10^{–3}$–$10$ g/L, at a discharge current within the range $20$–$100$ mA. The input discharge power, the electric current density, the cathode potential drop, and the electric field strength depending on the solution concentration were measured. We obtained the emission spectra of the discharges and revealed the emitting components. We have determined the regularities of the emission intensity behavior of the excited atoms and molecules in the discharge, the vibrational temperatures of the vibration excited nitrogen molecules, and the neutral particle temperatures. Also, the reduced electric field strengths for the whole range of the investigated sulfonol concentrations was calculated.
