Natural convection of water in an inclined three-dimensional rectangular cavity in the vicinity of the density inversion point
Annotation
The Navier-Stokes equations in the Boussinesq approximation in view of the temperature dependence of thermal parameters are used to perform a numerical investigation of the stationary process of natural convection of water in an inclined closed three-dimensional rectangular cavity in the vicinity of $4^\circ$C. The forms of stationary convective flows are determined; the effect of the Grashof number, of the geometric dimensions of the cavity, of the slope angle, and of the inversion of liquid density on the process of heat transfer is investigated. A comparison is made with the results of calculations performed on the basis of two-dimensional flow equations.
