The nature of microbubble emission under subcooled water boiling
Annotation
Under boiling of highly subcooled water at high heat flow rates, several authors have observed emission of numerous small ($10$–$80$ $\mu$m) bubbles. This phenomenon has been called as “microbubble emission”. In this paper we make an attempt to explain this phenomenon by emission on the surface and in the near-surface liquid layer of the residual air that has not been removed in the course of the water deaeration (degassing).
