Autooscillatory regime of crystallization of a binary alloy
It is shown that in the problem describing the process of directed crystallization and including the equations of heat conduction and diffusion there can exist a regime of autoscillations of the concentration of components and of the temperature ahead of the crystallization front. The spatial period of these autooscillations agrees well with the characteristic size of the structural nonuniformities which arise in three of the studied cases of experimental production of crystalline materials.
