Hysteresis of the wetting contact angle of drops (bubbles)
A linear density stress force of adhesion bonding is assumed to exist. A shape of the energy functional is suggested, making it possible to obtain equilibrium shapes of drops (bubbles). The equilibrium equation of a three-phase boundary is obtained, generalizing the Young equation. The backflow and in-leakage angles are determined. The equilibrium shapes of drops (bubbles) are determined on a horizontal surface for quasistatic variation of the Bond number. The results obtained are compared with theoretical and experimental data of other authors.
