Measurement and calculation of gasdynamic parameters of a high-frequency induced discharge
The pressure distribution in a blob of induced plasma is determined experimentally and by calculation. The temperature and velocity of the plasma are measured and calculated at the exit of an inducing plasmotron and in the inducer zone. The value of the gasdynamic “backwater” pressure arising during the motion of a cold gas into the discharge chamber is measured. It is established that a decisive role in plasma stream formation is played by the magnetic pressure which arises inside the plasma blob.
