Plasma flow in a large-diameter arc channel
The effects of perturbing factors on argon plasma flow properties are investigated. Experimental data are presented on the sensitivity of the laminar flow characteristics of a plasma of atmospheric pressure argon in the channel of a cold, wall stabilized, constant current arc. The factors causing perturbation investigated were the variable voltage across the arc and the perpendicular magnetic field.
